My suggestions:

1. See if current administration is interested in previous work on Geospatial Line of Business.

2. Standards need a champion that sees them through the ususally lengthy process of adoption and then some implementation so there are examples of use that make the business case for the investment.

3. Do not become discouraged during the process!
